Bargaining Bulletin #6
November 12, 2025
Bargaining has begun!
First of all – thank you again to everyone who attended the bargaining proposal outline ratification meeting. The number and type of questions and the support for our proposal outline showed interested and engaged members. This will help us throughout the bargaining process.
We also want to let everyone know that we have officially started negotiations with the Library. We met last Thursday for our first day of bargaining where we exchanged initial proposals and had some opening conversations to better understand each other’s positions. We presented a proposal package we are proud of, that is reflective of the priorities members identified.
We have a number of additional dates scheduled through the next number of weeks where we look forward to more in depth discussions with the Library. It’s still early in the process, but we’re committed to making real progress on your key bargaining priorities.
Your continued support and engagement will strengthen our position at the bargaining table and shows the employer that we’re united. In the meantime, you can:
- Stay informed: Read bargaining updates and emails so you know what’s happening.
- Talk to your coworkers: Help share accurate information and encourage others to stay engaged too.
- Attend union meetings: Your attendance shows support and it’s a chance to share your feedback, questions, or thoughts directly with the committee.
We will continue to keep you updated as negotiations progress. Watch for another bargaining update soon.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out to reach out.
In solidarity,
Your CUPE 402-02 Library Bargaining Committee
