Tentative Agreement Reached!
We’re reaching out to provide you with an update on bargaining with the Library.
After news about the L 402-00 agreement with the City was released last Friday, we have been getting lots of questions about the progress of our bargaining.
We are happy to announce that after a very long day of negotiations, we reached a tentative agreement with the Library early this morning. We were able to achieve the same wage increases as the Local’s City workers’ bargaining committee:
- January 1, 2025: 3.5% with retroactive pay
- January 1, 2026: 3.5% with retroactive pay
- January 1, 2027: 3.7%
- January 1, 2028: 3.5%
There are many other important features of the tentative agreement – we will follow up with information about the other parts of the agreement tomorrow.
Our next step is to schedule information sessions, where the bargaining committee will talk in detail about the agreement. We encourage all members to attend to hear this information and ask any questions you may have about the tentative agreement.
Please watch for the email tomorrow with the date, time, and location for both the information sessions and the ratification vote.
The bargaining committee wants to sincerely thank members for their support, participation, and engagement as we navigated this round of bargaining.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out.
In solidarity,
Your CUPE 402-02 Library Bargaining Committee
