On Friday, April 28, 2017 at 7:30 a.m., C.U.P.E 402 and the City of Surrey will be holding a small ceremony at the Operations Centre to acknowledge all workers that have been injured or killed on the job.
There will be a few speakers, discussing the importance of thinking and acting in a safe and healthy manner, to remind us all of how accidents can affect both you and pay tribute to those workers on the Day of Mourning.
Refreshments will be available for a short time after the ceremony. Please come and pay tribute to those workers.
Under the direction of Mayor Hepner, flags at Surrey City Hall and all civic buildings will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset to mark the National Day of Mourning.
